Coming to terms with that fact she had went off the deep end was one thing, she could internalize that and let it slowly eat away at her for awhile. ...But she knew the events of last month had also taken a toll on her family and her loved ones. She knew Varian's life had been changed in a very significant way and wanted to do her best to support him through this. In a way that she hadn't been able to do with her own sister. It's not like he can go across town to check on her, even with the town as close to normal as it can be- sinkholes notwithstanding.]

[It was just short of one year since Ruby had arrived in Deerington. To say it had been a wild ride would be an understatement but the calm of November moving into December had got her kind of nostalgic. She had found herself out on a late night walk to gather her thoughts and just so happened to end up outside of Varian's as she went. The bundle of cloth wrapped around some sort of stick at her back along with her weapon didn't have anything to do with it for sure.
She pulled her hood down and looked up to the window to his room. The light was on, because of course it was on. It's not like he ever stopped working if he could help it. It was something she could appreciate, it's not like she ever stopped doing what she could either.
She kneels down and gathers up snow, before tossing the packed up ball at his window.

With his leg mostly functioning (there was room for improvement, he knew that much, there was always room for improvement) he could finally function on the projects he'd had to put on the backburner for the sake of the more pressing need to have a working limb. He's been working on his gift to Kristoff when the snowball pelts his window.
For a second, he considers ignoring it- it could be townie kids- the house isn't super popular, for obvious reasons. But curiosity wins out, and he gets up wobbily to check out the window. He does at least smile when he says who it is, opening the window up to offer her a little wave.]

I haven't heard anything from her since before I got to the hotel. What happened? Was it something to do with that Ironwood guy? Is she hurt?
