It was like the ocean was calling me. Telling me to just walk in. So... I did. I walked in and it took me, and I drowned. A little unsettling, honestly.

In all honesty, I'm fine. A little sick, but okay. There are worse ways to go, and that kind of thing isn't terribly uncommon around here.

Wow. Wow. Has anyone told you that you might have a marginally unhealthy way of dealing with your own horrific trauma?

It's really depressing when we've been here long enough to go "yup, I could have died or got mauled way worse than how I did, lucky me" instead of focusing on the horrible fact of being killed or mauled in the first place.

There's not much else I can do about it, is there? [Especially not with Takashi slowly losing it. He needed to keep it together. It was so hard for him to rely on other people, Adam couldn't let him down now.]

It really is. On the up side, that means when it happened to me I had people around me who knew what to expect. And I did, too. It doesn't make having a death flu fun, but I at least have the data I need to tackle the problem.

I don't think I can regrow a leg, Adam. I'm not a lizard.

You can try and take it easy? That would be a thing you can do. And... yeah I guess that helps, the data? I had Fern, he took care of me when I had it. I don't think I could have got through it half as well as I did without him.

Oh! Yeah, I was thinking of building a prosthetic. I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing- I've never had to build one before, but I'm willing to learn. It's going to be needed, I think. In this place.

[He needs to be able to stand on two feet- even if one of those feet isn't made of flesh and blood.]

Good, someone has to. I haven't met Vyng, but if he's keeping you rested, then he's doing a good job. It's important- especially when you have the death flu.

Where I'm from advanced prosthetic are decently common. My fiance has one, in fact. If you're interested, I could pull some parts and plans from where I'm from. Shouldn't be difficult to modify.

I've been in bed for a week and I hate it, so I guess he's doing his job pretty well. [He smiles tightly. More than anything he wants to be up and looking for Takashi, but here he is instead.]

Thanks that would be pretty great. And yeah, I've seen Shiro's. I think I'd be more comfortable with something a little less... futuristic? I'm still kinda getting up to speed with technology.

[And he has a whole steampunk gremlin aesthetic he needs to keep. ]

Good, I know it sucks, but it really is the best way to deal with it.

I think we can come up with something to your taste. If you want you can send me some design concepts while we're resting and I'll make sure I get the right parts to go along with the schematics.

It'll be a nice distraction for both of us.
