I was attacked, by the sound monster things. And one got in a very solid bite to my side before I transformed to kill them. [Because unlike Rapunzel, Usagi does not play the "maybe they're nice and just need someone to show them the way."] But from rib to hip on my side, I'm crystallized.

I'm calling because I need to know if those things were also poisonous like the worm is.

[Any annoyance and confusion he has is swfitly replaced by worry. As if the other emotions were never there at all. The thought of her being crystalized plants itself in his chest and wrenches something deep inside it. He doesn't think he's ever going to get over that particular fear. Not ever.

He tries to push past it. To focus on helping her. ]

N-no. Far as I've been able to determine, they're not poisonous. They're built to tear people apart, they don't need venom or poison.

[She lets out a sigh of relief and then winces at the tug.]

[He doesn't know how to help. He could never help his dad. That was all Rapunzel. Nothing he could think of could help, and even if she was here, the Decay Incantation would probably only make this worse. He's quiet for a moment, trying to push down the growing panic.]

"Dying back home is easier" is a turn of phrase you never want to hear someone you care about say, just putting that out there.

[He's terrified. It disturbs all his fears surrounding the ember- watching it eat his dad alive- not being able to save him. But the fear that it might not have stopped- that it might hurt Usagi more is bigger. Deeper.

The thought she might get swallowed up by it, however unlikely, is so much worse. If he just avoided this out of his own fears and let it hurt her more, he'd never be able to live with himself. ]

[Usagi is on the couch, a blanket across her lap along with a manga. She offers a little wave.]

[She is, as she said she would be, wearing a bikini top. Beneath she's wearing a pair of shorts. She's avoiding fabrics that might tug on the crystal or get caught on it.]

[He does as he's told, taking his shoes off at the door. He looks tense and uncomfortable- but at least it's not because of the bikini this time. The crystal and his deep-seated trauma attached to it is far overpowering his ye-olde sense of decorum.

He comes into the room, his brow furrowed in worry, moving to crouch beside her. ]

...Well, that looks awful.

[He's an alchemist, not a doctor, he doesn't need to have a good bedside manner. ]
