[And that would be the crux of the problem. Another sliver of feeling like he's failed someone he cares about. That he should have pressed Maul more to leave him alone, that he was stupid enough to believe Maul's word he wouldn't in the first place. That Glitch didn't feel safe enough to come to him. What sort of friend is he? ]

I know. Sorry, I decided to try my hand at being the Fun Police for a month. I don't think I'll stay on this side of the law, it's kinda boring and there's way fewer doughnuts than I was led to believe- but for this month here I am.

[Like she could talk suddenly taking on that responsibility, but surely giving Glitch knives and crayons to play with was the right choice. She certainly didn't know how to tackle the Maul thing herself. It was easy to talk to someone about redemption or improving their attitude, but they actually had to make the effort to follow through.]

That's true. I'm not exactly great with kids anyway. I only really have Angry and Catalina back home and both of them are pretty self-sufficient. Also, they probably would have actually stabbed Maul in the eyes if he went near them.

[Normal kids they are not. Maybe the fact one of them is called Angry will clue Ruby in on that.]

Max all the way. Clover would never turn to the dark side. And I know right! The doughnuts are lies, Ruby. Big, fat, greasy lies. I thought I was getting paid in doughnuts but now I'm not even sure.

I feel like Glitch might have tried that if he actually saw Maul. But him ninjaing around like that definitely makes it harder to get your stab on.

We've had to help some kids a bit while we've been in Atlas, but Jaune either takes or gets suckered into that more than the rest of us. You're either good at it at first or it takes some work.

They sound like cute kids though, maybe sometime they'll end up here. Angry sounds like she'd get along with Yang pretty well.

[It's kind of weird but refreshing to talk about Atlas in a light that isn't all doom and gloom. Things were bleak but the time leading up to this had been a great learning experience.

She probably would. She's called Angry for a reason. They're good kids- they've had it really rough but they're doing better for themselves. I don't think I'd wish Deerington on them, though.
