Sometime in mid-December, Varian will find on his doorstep a
neatly-wrapped package
. It's all wrapped up in newspaper and tied with twine.
Clearly, this thing has been painstakingly photocopied, and there are several additional pages of handwritten notes at the back. These read:

A "nerd" is somebody smart, and apparently that's an insult.
Memes are pictures with text on them that you send to somebody as a joke.
A lot of internet humor seems to revolve around calling people insulting names and being over the top about your reactions to them.
