[Then he picks it up and starts to read it. The horrible, guilty feeling that's been gnawing at him since saving her from the fire is back and in full force. He should tell her. She deserves to know.

But what if she decides (rightly) that he was a monster and keeps the hell away from him? That he just loses her forever.

The guilt can't be half as bad as that, right?

The little (...) appears a few times as he starts and deletes a bunch of replies to her. This was so much easier back home- when he didn't have the option of keeping people in the dark. Everyone knew what he did, they either forgave him or they didn't. He couldn't and didn't have any choice in the process. Now he does- and he can't decide what the best course of action is.

God, he wishes Rapunzel or Eugene were here. They'd know what to do. Hell, at this point, he'd even take Lance. Maybe Cass? No... no, probably not Cass. He wants someone to tell him what he should do- what the morally right thing is. But they're not here, and he has to figure this out on his own. He doesn't know if he trusts himself to make the right call. ]
