[Varian has been spending a lot of time in his lab (nothing unusual there) but he does, for once, hear the knock at the door and brings himself up from the spooky basement depths to answer the door- he always welcomes a visit from the Doctor, after all. He offers a smile as he opens it and oh...wow, is that a present?]

Oh... hi! What... what brings you here? [Could it be the present, you teal-haired dumbass? Maybe.]
