Had a feeling it might come up. There's already been a few times this place has made me remember stuff I'd rather forget. Not fun, and obviously even worse for you.

That's rough to keep in your head. It's hard enough to remember on your own, but to have it keep coming up is just not right.

It's there for any of us. Whenever something happens here, we want to take it out on someone and be mad about it. It's hard to deal with something bad happening, so our emotions decide out actions even if we'll feel bad about it later. It sucks. But if that happens, we also have to try and remember that any action we take will affect someone too. You learned it the hard way.

[Luz had to learn it too. She'd come close when she saw Lilith again, remembering everything the woman had done to her the previous night, almost killing her, using her as a ransom to get Eda depowered and weak, making her walk back to the Owl House, beaten, rebuffed and told she didn't belong there. It was a feeling that still stayed in the back of her mind, how angry she was, how she was willing to cause Lilith harm the next time she saw her].

Hmmm. Closure is a thing you're not allowed here.

[Not that he feels like he especially deserves closure, mind. But it would be nice to have the option to tell people about his past as he has with Luz... instead of how many times circumstances or memory shares force it out of him before he's ready. ]

Yeah, I did. t wasn't the most fun lesson in the world to learn. I... genuinely wouldn't recommend learning it the way I did.

No, I wouldn't want that either. I already have a bad decision I think about a lot, yours sounds like an awful lot to bear. But you know who you are, and people care about you despite your history. I'd say at least you have that going for you.

[Look, Luz was all for redemption arcs, but she didn't like fics that seemed to be out to torture the person with their backstory for an indeterminate amount of time. Luz felt that Varian had suffered enough and was trying to do good now. Why constantly rub his face in the checkered past]?
