I haven't seen any sign of it since the dome came up. The cat buses were the only way to get there when it was around and they were gone.
Which is a shame because they cat buses were like the cutest and cuddliest form of public transportation around. Why can't we have nice things Deerington, why?

[She let's a hand rest on his shoulder and gives it a little squeeze. They didn't need to dive any further into the prison thing if he didn't want to. She just wanted to show she knew that wasn't an easy time.

It is. It's an Ozpin thing. He and Salem can still do it. I don't know how it really works because of course I heard it from him, but he said he could use his power to give other people abilities. So there's a handful of people who've got it, including a two who can just turn themselves into birds.
It's kind of weird, kind of cool, more than a little unsettling but super useful?
[She gives a cheeky little grin at that too.]
Yeah... I can't imagine last month was very pleasant for him. How's he holding up anyways?

Yes, this again. Okay but magic can't just go. That's not how magic works. What you have is blatantly the remnants of the magic in your world. Because non-magical people can't have super-speed and turn into rose petals or carry literal bad luck around them or do- whatever the heck it is that Yang does. Angry punching? I feel like it's Angry Punching. Besides, the point remains, semblances are totally magic. And I say that as someone who doesn't even like magic all that much. But I know it when I see it.

Except I got to watch it go! The Lamp Lady let me watch two VERY angry Gods wipe out humanity and take off with it. They even smashed up the moon on their way out because they were that done with what was going on. They said we wouldn't have it again unless they came back. Their words not mine. If you want to argue it with them be my guest. I've seen what happens when they get angry.
It's not magic! It's just how things work back home. We have Semblances and they're connected to our Aura. Those make sense. They have rules to them. Magic just kind of does whatever the heck the person wants it to. They can turn people into birds! They aren't the same thing.

Yeah. As far as I know that's all they can do with it. Ozpin gave them the ability to do that so he they could be his scouts, I guess. Track down Salem's people and the Maidens for him.

But it works just like magic. Maybe they didn't take it all. Like naturally people can just like, do what you guys do. All the powers I know about come from magic back home. If it wasn't magic, how can there be so many variations? How can they mimic a person's truest self? There's too much for it to all line up as poetically as it does for it to not be magic.
[The science is RIGHT THERE, Ruby. And that science points to MAGIC.]
I mean, yay for them. Are they still scouts for him? Given... everything's kinda gone sideways there.

Yeah, I'm really lucky to have him. He's always had my back even when we've been at odds with each other. He's about as loyal as you can get from a person. You both have that in common, too.

I guess that's possible? The god of Light and Darkness could be tricked, so they might not be sticklers for details and left some behind? I don't know I'm just going by what I've seen and what I know about the two of them. Magic just doesn't work the same. Seeing someone use it seems so limitless and varied. Like they can do basically anything they want with it. And that's not to say that Semblances aren't special but they're just that reflection of what that person can do.
It probably doesn't help that Ozpin probably had something to do with naming everything too... I don't know how big of a role he's played all throughout our history.
[Ruby folds her arms at that her smile fading a touch.]
One hadn't been working for him for long time, I think they had stopped before I was even born. The other found out at the same time as we did... And he didn't take it very well. He's working with me now.
[She pauses briefly, debating briefly whether to tell him or not. Qrow and Varian seemed to be getting along but she didn't want to overstep her Uncles trust in her.]

[She lets her elbows rest on the table. It was cute watching him wax poetic about a friend.]
That's good. I mean he hasn't poked me full of holes so I really can't complain about him. If he's looking out for you that's good, that's all I can ask for.
[She was pretty sure Varian was the only thing really holding him back from doing that. But he was exercising restraint, it's hard to argue with results.]
