If this place had windows I would throw it OUT of one. I don't want to eat your basic dressing! I HAVE taste buds!
[ The rudeness!!! ]
no subject
Huh, is that so.
[...]
I did see some "spicy ranch" at the grocery store. Do you want me to call Caleb and see if he can run some for you?
no subject
And then stares some more.
And then with his free hand, he reaches behind him to pick up one of the couch cushions.]
Sorry, Jun. This was a nice like, two hours, but I'm gonna have to smother you now. We had a good run. I know you understand.
no subject
You're cute when you have murderous intent.
no subject
AUGH, you're the worst.
no subject
Oops.
no subject
And that, mein schatz, is what we call karma. You brought it onto yourself and I am not cleaning that up.
no subject
Yeah, yeah. That's fair.
[He gets up from the couch to go grab some paper towels and cleaner]
Feel free to grab your dinner if you're hungry. It's on the dining table.
[What with the heavy conversation done and everything]
no subject
Sure thing!
[And even if he's not willing to help Jun tidy up the ranch mishap, he will get Jun's food out too, setting the dinner out for the both of them- he'll even be good enough to sit and wait for Jun to finish before unwrapping his burger.]
At least I know I can't be assaulted by the ranch now.
no subject
Don't worry, only some of it spilled out.
[He'll walk over to the kitchenette area, throwing away the towels and putting the ranch dressing in the mini-fridge. It'll probably be left in the cafeteria later. Maybe]
I hope burgers are alright. I thought to try to keep it to something simple.
no subject
Great, so happy to hear it lives another day.
[ He offers a smile and a little shrug.]
They're fine, Jun. Don't worry about it. I wasn't kidding when I said I wasn't fussy. Trust me, once you've had a year of prison gruel anything is a feast. [A beat.] Except ranch. Never ranch. Making that clear.
no subject
Okay, okay no ranch.
[He'll sit down across from Varian and grab his own burger, fries, and can of soda. ]
I get that though. Krusnik didn't serve high quality food either. So as long as there's no pork, I'll probably eat it.
no subject
He digs into his food, making happy little noises as he eats. He will NEVER get used to how good 21st century food is. He could never go back even if a door opened up for him tomorrow. He can't abandon fries.]
I think that's fair. We can avoid pork-based anything. That's an easy compromise.
no subject
Thanks. Though feel free to have pork yourself if you want it! I can be in the same room as it, it's not like it offends me.
no subject
Duly noted- just make sure not to feed any of it to you, huh?
no subject
[He nods. He'll take another few bites of his burger, eating in silence... before finally speaking up]
So.... ground rules. To... this. We should probably start figuring those out, since neither of us succeeded in scaring the other away.
no subject
Okay. That's for sure something we need to do- the last thing I wanna do is misstep or hurt you or... well, anything like that.
no subject
Well, the same goes for you too. I don't want to hurt you either.
[a pauses as he considers]
First up.... this isn't an open relationship. If you find someone you want to date, we go back to being just friends.
no subject
That's really fair. I mean... I can't see that happening [because he's HIM and kind of a constant disaster of a person] but we're both stuck with... geez, I don't even know how long lives. Neither of us can predict the future. That makes sense, and the same goes to you, too.
no subject
Of course! My dating prospects are... pretty terrible, but you're right. Anything can happen in the future.
Your turn?
[He doesn't want to be the one setting all the rules ok]
no subject
He sits back, considering for a moment.]
Okay, please don't worry that I'm like... abandoning you or anything if I vanish for a couple days. You've known me long enough to know how I get when I really get into a project. If I do that, it's not like... a reflection on how I feel about you or anything. I just get into my head sometimes. But if you message me, I will respond- I'll set a special alert noise just for you.
[He shrugs a little.]
I just don't want you to feel like you're doing anything wrong or... something if I do that. It'll never be a you thing.
no subject
Haha, alright. I already know how you are with projects, so I was thinking I'd just check in once a week to make sure you're still alive.
Is that reasonable?
no subject
[He is at least aware that he really does need to try to exist as a human being outside of his work- baby steps!]
Okay, so that's that one. Your turn, if there's anything else?
no subject
[A real phone call! Not just texting!
He makes a thoughtful noise as he sips on his drink]
You already know I have to keep secrets and not to take it personally. So... don't tell anyone about my tattoo.
no subject
[Finally, a means to make him have human interaction while he works. If it's something he can enjoy maybe he'll finally get better at it! Stranger things have happened.
He blinks.]
You have... a secret tattoo? I mean, no problem there, I won't tell anyone. Just uh. Curious?
