He makes a pleased noise as what Varian says, before falling silent besides the soft purring. Partly its out of exhaustion, and partly out of enjoying the moment. Jun was never uncomfortable with a little silence.
It's a couple minutes before he speaks up again, feeling emboldened by the warmth of this moment.]
... Honestly, I've never been a big believer in the idea of soul mates. The whole idea that someone's born with a soul that's a perfect match with yours and you're destined to be together... it always felt too much like fate for my liking.
[Which, he tended to be a skeptic when it came to fate stuff too- fate didn't leave much room for free will]
But... I've been thinking, what if soul mates aren't born, but made? Our life experiences, our actions, our choices... each of those things, tempers and forges the shape of our souls over time. And if you're lucky, you can find a soul that's been forged in a way that matches yours.
[He'll move his head to look at Varian more properly]
At least, maybe that's what happened with us. Because tonight we've bared our souls... first through words, and then through the carnal flesh. And even though we broke nearly every first date rule ... it felt so right, every step of the way.

He does open his eyes when Jun starts talking, shifting his head to look back, a small smile crossing his face.]
Yeah. I've never been a big fan of [oh woop, here come the fingerquotes] "destiny" either. I've seen it used way too many times to push people into something they don't wanna do or used as an excuse for them hurting people. Destiny's just a lazy way to avoid accountability for everyone involved.
[He absolutely does not believe in destiny one bit- he's seen how that bullshit ripped Rapunzel and Cassandra apart, how it nearly killed all of them. Destiny can go fuck itself, quite frankly.
But Jun makes a very different point. Varian hums softly as he considers this, resting his chin on his boyfriend's chest, feeling it ride and fall with his breathing as he mulls that over.]
...You know, that's a really nice way to look at it. I like that idea a lot better. It's less... foretold and more about the choices that led you to this point. Yeah- I can get behind something like that.
[He draws lazy circles with his finger on Jun's chest.]
Because you're right. I mean- I was pretty worried coming here tonight. I've got, like, so few friends. As in... people I actually trust. [Because once you've had your trust so thoroughly betrayed as Varian has, you don't make it a habit to let people get that close again. Earning Varian's trust is no small feat, he doesn't hand it over easily.] I was scared that at some point I was just gonna lose you and that'd be... pretty unbearable, actually. [Jun annoys the everloving fuck out of him on a regular basis, but he'd never want to lose that for anything, it's a regular part of his existence and he couldn't bear to be without it. Without him.] But it... really wasn't hard at all, once I got here. It really did feel right. Like... like, I dunno. A jigsaw piece falling into place, or something.

You're right about that. Destiny's bullshit, as far as I'm concerned. Just how are stars trillions of light years away supposed to predict your future? Honestly.
[He could get into it further than that if he wanted, but he'll just leave that sentiment where it is. He rather not accidentally spill a divine secret
He meanwhile will start tracing patterns into Varian's back ]
...I was worried about too. I was scared I was going to lose a person who sees me so clearly over some dumb hormones. [Because what if they had tried, and there was nothing between them? No way it wouldn't make their relationship incredibly awkward.] But it's clear our worries were for nothing. Neither of us are going anywhere.
[He pauses, really debating saying something but.]
... Am I allowed to make wolf puns? [Look, he knows being a wolf a touchy subject, so he'll at least ask]

[He is aware at least when to put the math away and he's pretty sure basking in the afterglow is not a time for math. He hums softly, tail wagging lazily at the attention paid on his back.]
Yeah. That would've sucked. I never would have forgiven them. The hormones, I mean. [He nuzzles into the crook of Jun's neck, pressing a little kiss there.] Nope. Sorry. You're stuck with me now. You may live to regret this.
[ The last one is a joke, given the little smirk on his lips. And then Jun says that and he squints, suspicious.]
...I am equal parts dreading what you say but I am too intrigued to know what you're gonna say to say no. So... sure?
no subject
[So yeah please no post-sex math lessons, thank you.
But oh...he can tell that last bit is a joke. And he simply gives one of his grins, especially when Varian gives him the green light on his joke]
Haha... Not if I make you regret it first. [Here it comes, here comes the shitty joke. Jun will even lift his head to make sure he's shit eating grin is fully visible to Varian as he says it.]
Would you say tonight was about.... tying the knot?
1/3
[He sees Jun's shit eating grin and prepares for the worst. He knows there's always nonsense when that grin appears.]
2/3
The.
Knot. ]
3/3
Oh my god, you're the worst
no subject
You gave me permission to say it!
[Consent was given!!
As Varian faceplants on his chest, he'll reach over and start scratching one of Varian's wolf ears.]
I really did like that part.
no subject
[The lesson is not learned, he'll fall for it again. He whines softly as his ear is scratched, his tail wagging for the attention. He snorts in amusement.]
Yeah, I kinda got that impression. I didn't know you could make sounds like that.
no subject
[He knows. He knows Varian will fall for it again. Jun will keep scratching his ear, smiling at the reaction]
Neither did I, actually. But it was the first time I've been on that end of things.
no subject
[He will absolutely fall for it again. He nuzzles a little into the scratching.]
No kidding? Well, I guess this was a learning experience for both of us, huh? Was that why you weren't all that heartbroken to lose, because usually you don't like that.
no subject
[He shrugs a little, trying to think how to put it]
It was just.... really hot, the way you asserted your own dominance, despite being both less strong and less experienced than me. I wanted to see how far it'd go.
no subject
[The penny. It has dropped! Varian chuckles, leaning in to kiss one of the bite marks he'd left on Jun's neck.]
Well, now you know. Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed that part too. So I guess we're evenly matched in that regard.
[Seems Jun really was onto something with that forged soul mate talk.]
I'm never gonna let you win easy, so it's good you enjoy that. Probably gonna be more of it.
no subject
Keep fighting all you want. I wouldn't have it any other way.
[Playfully, he'll gently nip at Varian's ear and tug it, before letting go and kissing the spot he tug it]
Besides, it'll make the day I do best you and get to hear you begging to get fucked all the better.
no subject
Duly noted! I'll keep on that, then.
[Varian lets out a surprised laugh at that ear nip, raising his eyebrows.]
I like the confidence! You'll for sure feel like you've earned it.
no subject
Oh, I will. Just you wait, Var. You may have won today, but it's only the beginning.
