[Because that's how much Varian means to him. So he put a lot of thought into all of this, even more than he usually puts into gestures towards others. ]
I'm so glad to hear that. [It's genuine. He'll lead him to the door of the cabin, where he'll unlock it and open it up. He'll set the teapot down on the nearest table, where there's also a collection of supplies that Jun set up earlier, meant for Varian]
Okay, let me get through this before the exhaustion sets in. [Because he knows it's coming] Here's a map, a spare key to the cabin, some spending money that I converted to Euros, a prepaid credit card if you need more, a list of local businesses and restaurants - including a car rental if you get tired of walking - some sunscreen, a water bottle, and a SIMs card you should put in your phone so it'll still work while we're here.
I thiiiink that should cover just about everything. My siblings helped me figure out the stuff that's good to have when you're traveling overseas.

[ He hopes the promise will cement to Jun he did this perfectly- that this means the absolute world to him.
He's only more impressed when Jun shows how prepared he is. He takes it all in, looking at all of this with a low, appreciative whistle. ]
Wow, you really did put a whole lot into this isn't you? You went all all out. [He'll be a good lad and swap the SIMs card over now, just to be safe. Then he starts putting the things Jun has given him into his backpack. After a moment's thought, the draws the curtains in one of the windows of the cabin, leaving a shadowy spot. ]
And there, if I need a quick trip back, I can use that. Remind me to thank your siblings too, when I get back.
[ He stands for a moment, looking at Jun with a dopey, puppy face- absolutely full of love. ]
This means so much to me. I don't think I'm gonna get over how much you've done for a while... I don't think I want to, actually.

Well it wouldn't be much of a gift if you got lost or something bad happened... [He's just saying!] Haha, we can thank them when we get home. My daily "I'm still alive" texts to Haru and Ana are about the only communication I want with my siblings during what should be a romantic weekend.
[He loves his siblings to bits, but nothing like siblings to kill a romantic mood. And at the puppy face... he'll smile and step close to kiss him again, this time tenderly and lingering before pulling away]
That's fine, but make sure to enjoy yourself, okay? That's what I care about the most.
[A small beat, before he says playfully]
Though, if you happen upon any tasty desserts during your walk that you'd want to bring back....
[What. "Do job, get treat" rules still apply ok]

Very true! That wouldn't be a super fun way to spend my birthday weekend. [Oh, and that, a sly grin crosses his face. ] Trust me, that's very fine for me. I wanted to rested for other reasons, too. Later on tonight after we've eaten, I plan on showing you exactly how grateful I am for all of this.
[And he'd very much not want to bring their families into that. Those are a big mood killer! He's more than happy to return that kiss, making a happy noise into it. ]
Are you kidding? This is going to be amazing! I'm gonna love it. And I'll love it even more once I can show it all to you.
[ Do job, get treat rules absolutely apply and a laugh bubbles out of him. ]
Okay, you have more than earned a tasty dessert. I have a good idea what I might get you too, I'll see if they still make it. This place is old-fashioned enough that they just might. No, no I'm not telling you what it is, you'll have to be surprised~

Ah...ha, right. I'll be sure to make sure I'm well rested for tonight then!
[But ah, Varian's already getting excited about showing him around. That's hella cute.]
Good, I look forward to having you as my tour guide. [He knows Varian loves getting to show off what he knows and he's more than happy to give it to him. Haru and Ash taught him some things, but he knows there's a lot to learn still
He chuckles again, leaning in close to give Varian one more kiss.]
I'm sure whatever it is, it'll be delicious. You know what I like. [He squeezes his hand before letting go, taking a few steps towards the bedroom, yawning as he does so.] Now if you'll excuse me, the bed is calling me. Have fun, okay? I love you.

[Varian LOVES showing off what he knows, and this is something he's always wanted to do but thought he never could. He can't show Jun around Corona, he can't take him to Old Corona to see the farm he grew up on to the island capital and the palace. But he can show him around a part of his country, and that is something he's desperately excited to do.
He returns the kiss, leaning in just for a moment to rest his forehead against Jun's. ]
I do. It'll be just perfect for you. [ He returns the hand squeeze, before raising it in farewell as Jun goes to the bedroom. ] Rest well, mein herz, I'll see you again soon. I love you, too.
[And so, Varian hefts his bag on his shoulders and takes off towards the town. It's a long walk, like Jun told him, but it's not bad at all. Every step makes him feel good, a lightness in his chest that has been missing for nearly three years. Getting into the town itself is a joy. The cobbles streets, the old buildings, it really does feel displaced by time, which means it's perfectly in-step with Varian's own experiences. He spends a few hours exploring, wandering the streets, taking in the sights, listening to people speaking his first language all around him. It's wonderful.
But what he really wants, after getting is loner time in, is to experience this all with his boyfriend. To show him just what an amazing gift he's given him. So, he drops into a local bakery, finding a cake that's familiar to him- and is delighted to still see it being made. He knows his boyfriend's sweet tooth only too well, so he'll get a whole cake rather than a couple slices. And that done, he leaves the bakery, finds himself a shadow out of prying eyes he can step into, and brings himself back to the cabin, cake box in hand.]

Which, he really wasn't kidding about being exhausted. While Varian explored, Jun slept the entire time. When Varian returns, he'll find his partner still curled up in bed. His wolf ears and tail were present, a sign of both how tired he was and how comfortable he was in his rest.
Fortunately, Varian's appearance in the cabin will cause him to stir (19). His wolf ears will twitch at the sound and he'll tiredly roll over to get a look at his partner, giving him a groggy smile.]
Hey Var. [He's looking directly up at his boyfriend rather than the cake box, as that's what has his focus] How was your walk?

Hello, Beautiful. It was really nice. It's an amazing little town. It reminds me a lot of Corona. [His hand moves to brush some hair out of Jun's eyes. ] Did you sleep well?

Mm, really well. This bed is comfortable. [He was pretty easy to please with sleeping accommodations, but still]
I was hoping you'd say that, with how historic the town seemed. Was there plenty of stuff you recognized? [Did it feel like home?]

[He makes a happy sound in the back of his throat. ]
Oh yeah. There's cobblestone streets, the buildings are... well, what people from your century would consider "old" but for me? Well, you were right. It's about as close as I can get to going back to where I came from without time travel being involved. Jun, I love it. Seriously, this is the best present anyone has ever gotten me. You've ruined me for presents for the rest of my days.

Chuckling gently] Oh, I hope I haven't ruined presents for you for the rest of the day. You're hard enough to shop for with how you can just make anything you want. [He's teasing, and it's clear in his tone]

[His own tone is very much teasing, his grin lopsided as he nuzzles Jun's cheek gently.]
Oh good, I'm glad you're reading it loud and clear, because I am. I'm really happy. You make me really happy. [ He nods, clearly excited at the prospect. ] You bet I can! I got a really good lay of the land- and there's a lot I wanna have a look into. There's a castle here, I've missed being inside a castle. Sure, it's a ruin, but still! America's great and all, but you guys are seriously lacking in castles.

Good, I'm very glad. And that's true. You really can't beat a good experience, especially when I get to share it with you.
[Because he's a big ol simp who wants to enjoy his life with the man he loves. He snorts in laughter. ]

I can agree with that. Remember that "mission" I was on earlier this month? The part I didn't mention was that the client was you. I can't teleport to a place I've never been before, so that week my siblings and I were on a roadtrip to get me here, since they know Germany and can drive. [Two skills Jun lack] It was fun, but I missed having you with us. I forwent a lot of stuff just so I could experience them with you first.
[Such as the desserts and particular spots that he felt Varian would enjoy showing. It was really nice, getting an actual normal family vacation with his siblings, the first one they've ever had - but he never forgot Varian the entire time]
Mm, that sounds pretty nice to me, our lives are eventful as is. Did you want to get going now or do it later? [He's comfortable, but this is Varian's vacation, so if Varian's amped to get going, he'll go along with it]

...No kidding? [Okay, that makes him laugh. ] That was so sneaky. I had no idea. I genuinely thought it was just a really sensitive mission that you couldn't give me details for.
[At Jun's second confession, Varian stills for a moment, taking in exactly what Jun had done for him. Another burst of gratitude and sheer love for this man blooms in his chest, something Jun will certainly feel through their bond, being this close. ]
...Jun. [He presses a kiss on top of Jun's head. ] You're wonderful, you know that? That's so incredibly sweet. Thank you. I can't wait to experience these things with you.
[ His smile gentles, though, as he snuggles in a little closer. ] We can do it later. M'comfy. [ This is nice, he does grin a little though. ] But I did get you a little treat, if you want that~

Well, it was! Had I told you the details, it would've ruined the mission. [And he can feel that burst of gratitude. It relieves Jun a lot that he didn't take it the wrong way, even if he feels a bit on the spot with the thank] Ah- I'm sure you would've done the same for me. Still, I'll admit it was a challenge refusing the desserts every time we stopped for dinner...
[He shrugs off being stabbed or tortured like it's nothing. But going without dessert? That's TRUE torment.
But he laughs at that, relieved] Thank God, I was willing but I really didn't want to move. [His ears will perk up a little] You did? What is it?

It would have! I'm very impressed you kept it on the downlow, it really did make the surprise all the better. [He'll calm down with the thanks eventually, he's just still reeling. This is right up there with Amal adopting him on 'life changing good deeds done for him'. He presses another kiss on top of Jun's head.]
You bet I would. And you're so brave and noble, foregoing all those desserts. You have faced great hardships for me, and I will make that worth it for you. We are gonna eat so many.
[ He laughs again, snuggled up. ]
Me either. I've already done a lot of walking and this is nice. I'm comfy. [ But with that, he does shift a little so he can reach to get the cake box, bringing it to the bed. He opens it up to a cake inside. ] This is called a himmelstorte. A 'Heaven Cake' in English. It's meringue, whipped cream and raspberries- with roasted almonds on the top. They used to make this in my time, it was great to see it still being baked!

[He gives a melodramatic sigh, before kissing his boyfriend's cheek playfully. ]
Alright, so then let's stay in tonight. We got the whole weekend, so we'll go out tomorrow. [They can always order food when they get hungry for something that isn't dessert. But his ears will perk up even further and he'll look at the cake inside the box. His tail is once again wagging]
-- Ah, it looks so good! And it's a whole cake too! [His boyfriend is the BEST] We're splitting it right? I want to know if it tastes the same for you too.

[ That's a welcome thought, though. Much as he wants to show Jun around, he also like being around Jun. And this is a nice cabin to be in. And honestly? Having an evening with his partner with zero interruptions of any kind when it's not a full moon sounds wonderful ]
Sounds perfect. We've got lots of time for sight-seeing, and now we know we can do this, we can always travel again for anything we miss. [He laughs at the wagging tail. ]
Of course! I wanted to make sure I could get some of my own while also being sure to treat your sweet tooth! I thought the best way around was a whole cake. And yeah! I'm really curious how much it might've changed through the centuries.

Mm! Germany's now only a quick teleport away from us now. We can come here anytime you'd like. [He'll give him a squeeze of his waist as he says this, reassuring. This wasn't going to be a one-time thing. Not with the abilities they had]

See? You've opened up the chance for us to come here plenty of times. We don't need to shove everything into one weekend. Which, hey, I am not gonna complain about more time relaxing with you.
[ Of course Jun plans to eat it out of the box- it seems Varian prepared for this, reaching into the box and pulling out some wooden forks. ]

[He'll smile a little at the kiss, ducking his head]
And I'm not either. Any chance I get to spend with you sounds like a good opportunity for me. I really like our time together.
[Whether they're doing things together, or just relaxing like this. As long as he gets moments of being alone with Varian like this, he's happy.
And that smile will turn into a grin as he offers the forks. He'll take one]
You really do, thank you. [He'll reach into the box and fork up a piece of cake. He'll hold it out for Varian, as if planning to do a toast] Cheers.

[ His grin only widens at Jun's reaction to the forks. He reaches in to fork up his own piece, clinking his cake against Jun's. ]

[He pops his piece of cake in his mouth, closing his eyes as he chews. He makes a few happy noises, before swallowing, his eyes opening again to focus on his partner. ]
It's good! A little sweeter than I remember, but otherwise very similar! How'd you like it?

[Time together sounded ideal to him. He'll clink his cake against Varian's before taking a bite. He makes his own happy sound about it, clearly enjoying the taste of it.
He'll swallow eventually, giving an approving nod]
It delicious! I really like how light and fluffy the texture is. And it's a good level of sweet.
