[Anyone else would see this as an utterly batshit way to resolve a conflict. Varian sees this as an utterly batshit way to resolve a conflict. But Fern does not operate like he does- and neither does Maul. ]

That sounds pretty intense. I did tell him that he had to talk to you and show he was actually sorry for what he'd said and done. I wasn't expecting the stabbing.

Did it help you any? Stabbing him?

Also is he still alive? That's important, too. Obviously.

Maybe not. He seemed to be genuine in wanting to straighten things out, but he's like a petulant child sometimes. He has to be nudged in the right direction.

I think the better answer here is "I don't want to kill him because that's not the best way to solve this problem" than that one.

I really hope so. Honestly, I pretty much called him out on being a coward for not doing it sooner and that seemed to have done the trick? He REALLY doesn't like people thinking he's afraid of anything, turns out.

He's had plenty of chances to do that, and he never has. The first time was due to Deerington messing him around. I can't really blame him for that, not after what happened in July. But I get it. I appreciate you worrying about me.

I know. But it's important to remember that it's not. As tempting as it is a lot of the time, and believe me, I know it's tempting.
