DEER COUNTRY ITEMS

WELCOMING BAG - Gained on arrival. A messenger bag. Completely indestructible. Blood slides right off these bags and any fluid won't spill through which ensures everything inside will stay completely dry. There is also some sort of enchantment on the bag that keeps the scent completely neutral so you needn't worry about beasts and animals finding food in your bag either. Lost bags cannot be replaced

SLEEPER ROBES - Gained on arrival. They are indestructible (and fire proof) and resistant to blood and liquid. They aren't especially warm nor do they provide any sort of armored protection.

OMI - Gained on arrival. Communication device! It gives the immediate temperature of your surroundings, the time, and the date. Its core can be used as a light. The Omni can also vibrate/flicker with light to replicate morse code. The crystal has two sides: the flat and the round. While most communication is done on the flat side of the Omni, if you lay it flat-side down, the dome will create a widespread projection of whatever you are looking at. Charged with blood or moonlight.

INCENSE STICKS (10) - Gained on arrival. These are primarily useful for keeping your immediate area safe from beasts as the odor of incense seems to repel them. Incense can also be used to help soothe corrupt minds. Once burnt, these incense are finished with. Incense is not waterproof or blood resistant.

CANTEEN - Gained on arrival. One canteen that automatically purifies any liquid put inside and can make it sustainable and safe to drink. The filthier the substance put in, the longer you will have to wait for the purification process. Can take anywhere between five minutes and one hour. The purified liquid can also be used to clean wounds. The canteen can be lost and destroyed.

JOURNAL - Gained on arrival. Folded up in each journal is a map of Trench and its surrounding areas. There may also be a few crudely written notes left behind by someone else in the very beginning about some tips on Trench. Varian uses this for his observational notes on the city.

LUNAR ORB (1) - Gained on arrival. Lunar Orbs are the primary source of "energy" throughout Deer Country and Trench. One Lunar Orb is enough to "power" an entire home. This is an eco-friendly way of generating energy for lights and other "electronic" devices. The more Lunar Orbs, the more power, and one can "collect" lunar energy into orbs and save them as a travelling generator type of power. A well-charged Lunar Orb glows like the moon while an uncharged Lunar Orb looks clear like glass. Lunar Orbs can be charged off of any moonlight whether organic moonlight or magically created moonlight.

LAMP FRIEND (SET TO THE FRONT LAWN OF THE DISASTER HOUSE) - Gained on arrival. Once you put your hand near the Lamp, you'll be able to feel a connection to all the other Lamp Locations throughout Trench. You can safely choose which Lamp to teleport to at any time. The immediate area around any Lamp Location is completely safe from beasts/monsters/event shenanigans. This can be anywhere from a two-foot radius around the lamp to a fifteen-foot radius. It might be limited space, but it can mean the difference between life and death. It is said the groans of the Lamp Friends keep evil at bay and scares away terrible things. Once you have set your Lamp Friend down, the lamp location is permanent. Once a lamp is lit, nothing can put it out. It will serve as a permanent light in the dark.

(NOT ACTUALLY THE) SUNDROP FLOWER - Gained from burying the Demanitus Scroll in Sept 2021. A replica of The Flower back home. The flower will be a representation of your progress in Trench: if its petals wilt, you are lingering too much in the past. If it is in full bloom and vibrant, you're on the right path to a better future. If the flower starts to rot, you're heading down a dangerous path. It's usually a little on the bedraggled side, he's trying his best.

WHITE GOLD COMPASS - Gained from facing his regrets in Sept 2021. The compass's needle will always point in the direction of the nearest Lamp Friend no matter the chaos going on in the world. But the compass only works once you have calmed down and focused.

BALL BEARING COMPASS - - Recieved on his Blessed Day 2021. While this tool can be used for the traditional purposes of drawing perfect circles on paper, one will find its strength is best used on non-traditional surfaces such as walls, floors, or the earth itself. Draw a circle and you will create a unique "rabbit hole" that opens up into a small, completely impervious room stocked with useful supplies like food, medicine, warm blankets, and possibly even a bed and a warm fire. This room will only last 24 hours but it can be a reprieve from a deadly world and not a bad tool to have with you when you're camping in harsh conditions. The hole can only be entered by those the artist wants to enter. It's a perfect hideaway for those seeking refuge. Anyone can use this tool. Once it has been used, it must recharge for 24 hours before it can be used again. The room it creates should never be bigger than a bedroom and will never contain magical items. Monsters cannot access this room regardless of event circumstances. It can be lost. Room info here.





CANON ITEMS

RUDDIGER - Semi-sentient trash panda. Loyal lab assistant, endless companion, will steal your food. Now an Omen and that's everyone's problem.

BACKPACK - Now a Bag of Holding. Plants are the only living things it can hold and anything larger than a sword might get lost in the bag for a few hours before being found again. Always contains at least a few notebooks, charcoal pencils and potion vials.

THE DEMANITUS SCROLL - Ancient scroll depicting the sundrop and moonstone incantations. Varian is the only living person able to decipher it. It burned up back home. - Varian sacrificed this for his Growth Flower in Sept 2021.

WELDING MASK, COAT AND TORCH -Nothing magical about them, but they DO make him look like a serial killer. Fun!

THE ADVENTURES OF FLYNNIGAN RIDER BOOKS -The entire series! FLYNN RIDER/EUGENE FITZHERBET SHRINE -Found in a corner in his basement lab. Hidden by a curtain.

FIRST PLACE ROSETTE -Gifted to him by Cassandra after the shennanigans at the science expo.

FAMILY PORTRAIT -Painted portrait of baby Varian, his father Quirin and his deceased(?) mother, Ulla. It's hanging up in the Disaster House tower.





WEAPONS

ALCHEMY SCHIAVONA -Can store up to 4 alchemic potions in the hilt that, when triggered, affect the blade (e.g. ice alchemy applied can allow the blade to freeze things, Flynnolium applied can cause whatever the blade cuts to explode). The sword itself is immune to alchemy. (Fern)

ALCHEMY BOMBS -Many and varied.

TONITRUS - He picked it up from the skeletons in Deerington. Lightning mace! He can bearly lift the damn thing.

POCKET KNIFE -A little stabber! (Fern)




CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES

CANON OUTFIT - The outfit he arrived in, includes trousers, shirt, maroon vest, steel-toed boots, gloves and scratched-up goggles.

PROSTHETIC LEG -- visual one and visual two - Made in November after he lost his right leg from above the knee down in October. Very steampunk.

POCKET WATCH - Intricately carved from bone by Fern. It doesn't actually work and Varian has no intentions on fixing it. It's perfect how it is- metpahorically so. (Fern)

GOGGLES -With magnifying lenses: reinforces mental stability and will when worn and when the wearer is faced with external mental stresses. (Fern)

VEST -A piece of clothing that projects a protective aura. It’ll act as a shield that will protect the user from head to toe. It must be activated though and lasts for two hours. It takes the equivalent of a day to recharge but the time it’s used can be spread out, but will not recharge until all the time is expended. (Glitch)

RACCOON KIGURUMI -Aids a restful sleep when worn. (Uasgi)

STEEL RING -It's a fancy space ring! (Maul)

CHERRY BLOSSOM PIN -Helps him fall asleep when he wears it. (Fern)

UGLY HAT -It bearly fits his head and is green. Also has a matching scarf. (Both Eda)

GENERAL OUTFITS -He has a lot of vests.

HIDEOUS CHRISTMAS SWEATER -Oh god, it's so fucking ugly, why doesn't Fern understand style. (Fern)
