Kaisou CR Chart 2
Adopted father. Reminds Varian an AWFUL lot of Eugene. He has that cocky-devil may care attitude down to a fine art. He ALSO has the caring side there too. Varian feels safe talking to him and Amal is always around to provide both a listening ear and a lot of delicious food to eat. Of course, feeding a teenager means you're stuck with them forever, so Amal only has himself to blame for that. A secure, comforting presence in Varian's life. Has really helped Varian with the insight that maybe he shouldn't treat Kaisou as a place to escape from but as a chance to carve another life for himself. Recently adopted Varian for realises! Is easily one of the most important people in his life.
A science nerd and possible reincarnated ghost boy? Varian tends to inadvertently set off Danny's memories of his past life more often than not - something he feels both fascinated and marginally guilty for. But mostly fascinated. He's been trying to invent ways to make Danny's life a little easier as he deals with his increasingly ghostly powers. Danny is a good and solid friend and Varian feels lucky to have him. Their friendship love language is puns, and due to their stubborn natures, once they get into a pun battle they'll go on and one for a LONG time. Danny's saved his life a couple times, and usually does his best to try and protect Varian from himself.
Varian's music teacher and oft point of guidance. Elliot is a pretty big perfectionist when it comes to music, which Varian appreciates- it gives him something to strive towards! Besides that, Elliot is very supportive and is always willing to provide advice and a steady hand to help him figure out how to be a better person. He's invaluable in Varian's humble opinion. Even if the guy deserves like a hundred naps. Elliot was involved in dispatching Snow's stepmother after Varian desperately came to him, worried about her safety. Varian is endlessly glad for this- knowing too well the cost of doing what needs to be done, even when it's not morally tasteful.
Best frienemy. Another person who gets under Varian's skin. Kind of a wiseass. Varian is currently unaware he is the same person who wears all the weird shroud getup who was helping out in the dinosaur mishap. Despite the fact they don't get along a lot, Jun DID help Varian learn some pretty solid coping mechanisms for his newfound powers, so he guesses he can give the guy that. If he has to. Jun loves using memes and emojis around Varian, which Varian does NOT get at all, this usually ends up in Varian getting snappy. He also will never forgive The Stick Incident. Despite this, they do work together in the PokeGO apprentice programme and he doesn't ACTIVELY hate Jun. Their relationship is complicated. And screamy. Varian does most of the screaming.
